Cyanotype

Cyanotype Printing is a beautiful photographic printing process that produces a Prussian blue print, each time unique and commonly called sun-print. Engineers and Botanists used the process well into the 20th century to produce copies of drawings, referred to as blueprints or plants images.

A mildly photosensitive solution is applied to a receptive surface (such as paper) and allowed to dry in a dark place. Then exposed to sunlight and then washed in plain water the uncovered areas of the paper turn a rich deep blue.
